Types of Childcare

Childminders
Care for a maximum of five children in the childminder's own home

Drop-in
Services usually attached to a supermarket or gym where children
will be cared for on an hourly basis.

Full Day Care
Generally open from 8am to 6pm

School Aged Childcare
Childcare for school children outside of normal school hours where the
same children attend the childcare facility on a regular basis and
access to the service is clearly defined by agreement with parents and guardians.

Sessional Pre-School Services
Care for children in sessions of no longer than 3 ½ hours.
Sessional services may include playgroups and Montessori schools.
