South Dublin County Chilcare Committee (SDCCC) is an independent organisation funded by the Department of Children & Youth affairs under the National Development Plan 2007-2013.

Our Mission Statement

To strategically co-ordinate the sustainable development of an accessible and holistic, quality childcare infrastructure in South Dublin County.

• Local implementation of the National Childcare Investment Programme.

• Support the national objective of developing quality childcare in South Dublin County.
• Provide support to parents in accessing quality childcare in South Dublin County.

Develop the role and profile of SDCCC in coordinating childcare in South Dublin County.

Support the development of affordable and sustainable childcare in South Dublin County.

Target resources for the development of childminding.

Ensure a strategic approach to training provision in South Dublin County.

Promote and support the quality development of childcare.

Enhance management and human resources practices.

Our Plan

1. Local Implementation of the National Childcare Investment Programme 2006-2010

We offer supports to providers in drawing down and managing their funding under the NCIP particularly those in receipt of funding under the Community Childcare Scheme

2. Local Implementation of the Early Childhood Care & Education Scheme

Since the launch of the ECCE Scheme in 2009 we have been supporting both childcare providers and parents in all aspects of the scheme.

3. Support the national objective of developing quality childcare in South Dublin

A quality childcare service provides positive early learning experiences for children in partnership with parents. South Dublin CCC provides supports to providers to improve the quality of their services and training, development and networking opportunities for childcare practitioners.

4. Provide support to parents in accessing quality childcare in South Dublin

We support parents to access quality childcare through our online childcare search facility, our guide to choosing a quality childcare service and information on reducing childcare costs.
